
Travel vloggers Kara and Nate chartered Paukan Cruises’ Irrawaddy Explorer river boat in Myanmar for their group tour of November of 2019. In reserving a spot on the tour I selected one of the boat’s Orwell suites. This led me on an exploration of George Orwell’s connection to Myanmar, or Burma as it was called during his stay in the country. In this vlog, part I of our week-long Irrawaddy River cruise between Bagan and Mandalay, I discover whether reading Orwell and trying to walk in his footsteps is still relevant to visiting Myanmar today.
