DIY: Crafting Travel Memories

June 29, 2015 by Elizabeth Leave a Comment

Now that I’ve returned home, I’m already missing vacation and looking for ways to display my travel memories. Here are 2 of my favorite projects:

Shadow Boxes

While on vacation I keep an eye out for small iconic items for the foreground, and find a postcard for the background. Voila!

London, England & Chincoteague, VA

Scrapbook

This project takes some effort, but it’s worth it in the end! Print your favorite photos, grab some washi tape, stamps, markers, and acid free photo stickers or, even better, photo corners (to avoid the backs of your photos someday having brown areas where the tape sticks to them), and any other pamphlets, tickets, and papers you might have gathered along the way!

What are some of your favorite ways to display your travel memories? Share them with me!

One thing I’ve found through my travels is that (nearly all) humans love for a good dog story. So here are three I’ve added to my dog’s bookshelf:
🐶 Patsy Ann of Alaska
📍Visit the statue of Patsy Ann on the cruise dock in Juneau, AK and pick up a copy of the book at nearby @hearthsidebooks
🐶 Catie Copley
📍Visit the @fairmontcopley in Boston, MA and ask the concierge for a copy of the book.
🐶 Greyfriars Bobby
📍Visit the statue of Bobby in the Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, Scotland. Pick up a copy of the book at @toppingsedin.
